Cutting Some More Bills

I sat down today with our bills to try and figure out which ones we are going to try and cut or eliminate for the upcoming year. This is one of our resolutions that both, my husband and I, have decided would help us out tremendously. We started with our satellite package, then proceeded to the telephone bill. Next, we talked about different internet services available to us in this area.

Although, we both do need the internet for not only enjoyment, but for our business as well, we tossed around the idea of maybe switching to dial-up. I've had dial-up before and it's not really that bad. It allows me to get what I need done, and you're able to get it at the fraction of the cost than you would be able to get dsl service. I'm not really sure how my kids will feel about switching from dsl to dial-up, but they don't pay the bill. I am going to be looking to see how cheap dial up would be for us and make the decision based on the amount it will save.

I am also considering an investigation on our insurance plans we currently have. I know there are much lower rates and if we can get almost the same coverage, then I don't see why we should switch insurance companies also. By cutting some cost in our household budget, we will be able to spend the money on other things and still have money left over. With today's economic crisis, a low monthly budget is almost necessary and can keep you from struggling in the long run, especially if either of us were to loose our job. I just want to be prepared.

Life Without TV

I can't imagine life without a television and something to watch each night as I unwind. It is such a relaxing time for me to forget about the hectic day I had. If it weren't for Direct TV, then I think I would go crazy at times. My husband and kids feel the exact same way. We not only have it to take our mind off of everything that happens throughout the day, but it is a time to sit down with the family and enjoy each others company.

Just yesterday my sister-in-law called from her office and ask what we were doing since we were not at work. I told her we were watching the Directv in the bedroom while eating some ice cream. I knew that would make her jealous because not only does she like ice cream, but she loves nothing more than watching tv. She started talking about her cable box going out and I didn't realize she didn't have Direct. She ask if I thought they had Direct TV in New York. I told her it was definitely worth checking into because she would truly enjoy it much better than cable. It has tons more stations and I know the service is better. I can't wait until next weekend when it's my turn to call her. I bet she already has one installed by then, but I'll let you know.

Starting the New Year Out Right

I know everyone has a New Years Resolution and I know each year I always try something different. This year mine is going to be trying to help my body. I'm not only going to diet, but I am also going to try and exercise more. To show you how determined I am, I have decided to purchase some fitness equipment. I figure if I spend a little money on this equipment then I will be more willing to use it rather than if I were going to the gym. It is going to be so much easier since I am placing my exercise equipment in my office. Now I can just get up from my desk and do some exercises and then sit back down and work. I'm really feeling good about my new decision, so wish me the best.

I Love to Shop

It's hard for me to imagine anyone loving to shop as much as I do. It is almost like a hobby of mine. I don't have any particular thing I like to shop for more than the other, except maybe Designer Handbags. Those are probably my worse weakness. Actually any type of bags are a weakness. I try to limit myself on how many I buy in a given month.

Now as for other items, I don't have a priority, but recently I got on a kick of shopping for some really good quality luggage. I need something that is going to last. My husband and I are always going out of town on business and it seems here lately each time we pick up our luggage at the airport, then something is broken on it. I want something that can withstand the roughness these airports put your luggage through. It's my mission to find it. I was privileged enough to get a little money for a Christmas gift from my parents and I am highly considering using it for buying this. I figure it is something I could use and need.

I Won't Let it Happen Again

Nothing is worse for me than when a computer crashes and you don't have any of your files and folders saved. I can honestly say I have only let this happen to me one time in the past few year. After that particular time, I promised myself it would never happen again. Ever sense that day, I have been a firm believer is online backup. It is a life saver and won't leave you in a bind.

Sometimes You Need Credit

I have ran into several occasions when I have needed credit cards to use. Just like a couple months ago when I had to rent a car while mine was in the shop, I needed a credit card. I know some people really don't want credit cards and I'm not the type of person that just loves having one, but it has been convenient more than once. After the car renting episode, I decided to Compare Credit Cards.

I spent almost an entire day just looking at what each have to offer and what the interest rate would be for me. That was probably the most important factor. Now there are even sites that can help you compare the Best Credit Cards for you.  Talk about convenience, now that is definitely convenience. I sure wish I would have known about those sites a couple of months ago. I could have saved myself hours of searching around online and did my search at one site. If you are in need of a credit card, for whatever reason, then definitely save yourself some time unlike me.

My Cousins Extra Cash

My cousin has lost her job around the end of November, so needless to say she was struggling with some bills, as well as figuring out how she was going to buy her kids something for Christmas. It turns out that a friend of hers from where she use to work was talking to her about gold. This friend had some extra gold laying around in her jewelry box that she either didn't wear or was pieces that had something wrong with it.

My cousin got to thinking about some old rings and a few necklaces that were either old or had kinks in them. Each of those pieces were gold. So, she decided it was time to part with it since gold is worth a lot in today's time. It turned out she sold it and made enough to pay some bills and buy her kids some Christmas gifts. I sure wish I would have known about this sooner and I would have raided my own jewelry box for some gold.

We Finally Did It

We finally did it today. My husband and I actually sat down for a couple of hours and checked out some different Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts. We plan on taking a trip and staying a Myrtle Beach Resort next June. As I have mentioned before, we always try to book reservations around the first of the year for our vacations throughout the entire year. I feel that is our best shot for getting what we want and not having to worry about places filling up.

We debated between a Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resort and one not directly on the beach. Although the last time we didn't stay directly on the beach and it was a super nice place, it is not as convenient. Both my husband and I enjoy the water so much and it was a little out of our way each time we wanted to go to the water. There were times my husband wanted to go and I wanted to do something else. At least when looking at some Myrtle Beach Resorts was a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. Now we just have to narrow down our choices.

My Husband and His Love for Golf

My husband truly enjoys playing a round of golf every chance he gets. Don't get me wrong, I am truly happy he has a hobby to keep him busy, and especially on the days that I want to go shopping. Just the other day he was telling me at the breakfast table how he would love try some Myrtle Beach Golf. For a minute, I was a little upset since we had been talking about visiting this area next summer. I thought about how I don't want him out playing golf while I have nothing to do. Then it hit me. Why in the world would I care if he plays golf? This would allow me to do all the things I want to do while I am there. Like shop.

It was like a light bulb that went off in my head. Immediately, I got online and started searching for Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations. I didn't want him to change his mind, which he tends to do at times. Anyway, I was quick on my feet and before the day was over I was showing him all the great Myrtle Beach Golf Packages we could get. All I can think of is Golf Myrtle Beach is not as bad as it sounds. I now am going to search for me some things to do while my husband enjoys himself there.

Things That Interest Me

Some of my friends say I have "odd" things that interest me, but I don't quite believe that is true. Sometimes I find myself liking to talk about different subjects than some and from time to time I search unusual things on the internet, but everyone has their own mind of what they like and are interested in, so I don't think I like "odd" things like they claim.

This brings me to what I wanted to talk about. Just the other day I was discussing Online Trading with a friend. Now this friend already is in to Stock Trading and she carried on a conversation just like you would expect. Then another friend comes along and ask about what we are talking about. As soon as I tell her, then she gives us this look like we are crazy. Why is that? I simply feel it is because she is not educated in that area and wants to make it look as if we are the odd ones. Just because someone doesn't have the same interest as you doesn't mean your different. Anyway, my other friend and I continued to discuss the trading and swapped the name of our Online Broker. The other friend basically walked off. I know I shouldn't let it bother me, but some things you just can't help.

Planning a Little Early

Each year between Christmas and New Years, we start thinking about vacations we might to take the upcoming year. This next year we are thinking about a Myrtle Beach Resort since we have tried this route a few times and really enjoyed ourselves. The first time we got a Resort in Myrtle Beach, we had the entire family with us. Not only that, but my daughter and stepson each took a friend. This next year, it is looking more and more like my husband and I will finally get to go on vacation all by ourself.

I have my eye on one Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel in particular.  However, I am keeping my options open, but it won't be long before we book something, so unless our choice changes, then it looks like we will be going to Myrtle Beach around the first of June. I'm trying to keep this a little bit on the secret side, because I would prefer us not having guest this time around on vacation. I think I deserve a vacation alone with my husband.

My Husband and His Side Jobs

My husband has always loved to work on cars. He truly enjoys buying them and repairing them, then selling them. I never really understood this until a few months ago when I was noticing how much he actually profits from doing it. He tried to learn everything about the particular car he buys. He takes notes on each model, so that he can refer back to it if he ever purchases another like it. Kind of like a car encylopedia.

I was interested in seeing what he had learned about jaguar xk, because I would like one of those myself. He didn't have too many notes on one of those, but he did have tons of notes for my cousin about her mitsubishi lancer. She was super thrilled to find out what she needed to know about her car and how much it is worth. Then my uncle learned about how he investigates all these cars, so he called asking about a kia, because he plans on buying my aunt one at the beginning of the year.

Anyway, this is truly turning into a very profitable side job for my husband and I told him just last night that he should consider doing more of this during the upcoming year, especially since he enjoys it so much. He did agree, but pointed out that it is more work than I realized. I'm sure that it is, but if you enjoy something then it shouldn't be just a hobby if you can make it a job. Don't you agree?

Finally Found It

My husband has been on the internet for the past two days trying to get pricing on some stainless steel metal tiles for a project he has been working. According to him, he is looking for just the right kind and size. This afternoon he was dancing around with enjoyment because he finally found what he was looking for. Now we are going to be able to enjoy the evening out with a nice dinner at our favorite restaurant.

A Couple More Pounds

I knew this would happen when the holidays arrived and I was right. I have put on a couple of pounds that I had lost. I know that I have to take care of the situation soon or it will get out of control. I plan on digging out my old faithful weight loss pills and starting them first thing Monday morning. I know I should start them tomorrow or even today, but it has always been in my head that Mondays is a day to start something new. I know, that's silly, but it has worked in the past so why change a good thing.

Problems in Teens

It seems almost all parent who have teens is constantly searching for some type of acne treatment. Just the other day a friend of mine was talking about how her son is having such a problem with his acne. I can't tell you how much I don't miss those days. My daughter never had the issue, but my stepson had enough of a problem for the both of them. It was battle for such a long time that I am glad to see those days gone. I truly sympathize with all the parents who have children fighting this problem.

My Husband is so Lucky

Well as most of you know, my husband has to take a whole lot of business trips for his company. From time to time I get the honors of tagging along. This next week he is getting to take a trip to California, but I'm lucky enough to get to go. I am backed up with my work and I know there is no way I would be able to stay at the hotel all day and do it with being in such a neat city.

Needless to say I am having to look around at some different places and make his reservations. Santa Monica Beach Accommodations are not near as much fun to make if you know you're not going to get to enjoy them with your husband. I am happy and excited for him and I know he wishes I could go, but I suppose this is life. So, while I make his reservations at this Santa Monica Beach Hotel, I can always dream about what I would do if I was going to be there. Of course, that is not quite as much fun as actually experiencing it, but it does give me a reason to make sure I stay caught up on my work from now on so that the next time this opportunity arises, I will be able to go too.
